Namaste Honorable Narendra Modi ji, I would like suggest that in India we should adapt a common/ unified number plate numbering system. This has various benefits in terms of unified vehicle identification and also in law enforcement. One of the key benefits of a standardized number plate system will be that with today’s advanced number plate recognition CCTV technology, it becomes very easy to search for vehicles. By deploying number plate reading CCTV cameras, immediate number plate information can be captured and appropriate instant alerts can be sent to the law enforcement / police agencies to provide information of any vehicle. Such cameras can be deployed at key entry / exit points between states, cities, check posts and on internal city roads. My suggestion is to standardize the India number plate format across all states in India, which will provide the government and law enforcement agencies with many benefits as mentioned.
