Dear Sir, It is good and unanimous decision to pass the Womens bill in parliament. But I wonder while we are 75 years old as a nation and moving towards Amritkal which is roughly the transition from developing nation to developed nation, why do we still need all the reservations and quota? I understand long back when the country was newly independent in late 40s and 50s, the british practice of caste based discrimination might have been there. But by reserving quota in almost everything from 50s till now, the meritocracy is killed and we have just dragged the cast based discrimination this far. Why do we need to differentiate a SC ST OBC Kshatriya or a Brahmin etc. Instead of addressing the issue, reservations system have just prolonged the discrimination far. Time to rewrite and set the right runway for the new nation building. Every Indian should be treated in same manner and should get same opportunities. Why the bucketisation by reservations and quota?
