It is shameful that Service Charges to Cantonments are not being paid to Cantonments by Ministry of Defence e.g. 130 crores are pending for Jalandhar which are part of Budget. What to say of Development even Salary is late by 235 days & Pension is late for 61 out of 243 days upto August. Octroi Staff is getting salary despite closure of Octroi Posts since subsumed with GST since July 2017. Supply Line of Funds and Grants is almost cut off like shortage of Oxygen during Covid in 2021. Roads are still closed despite statement of Defence Minister in Lok Sabha on 1st April which is befooling Parliament & Prople of Jalandhar Cantt. Sooner the better to issue orders for Sangam of Dry Cantonments with Flowing Municipalities as Saint Kabir suggests to push the drowning one instead of dwindling round & round in water ebb. Defence Minister has no time for Cantonments which is evident from Lucknow without MCB wef Feb 2021.
