Electronics Sector is a critical Sector of the Indian Economy. It is one of the pillars of “Make in India” and “Digital India” programs of the Government.
Keeping in view that the Electronics Manufacturing Sector holds a great potential in the Indian context, and there has been a gap between the achievement and the potential of this sector, NITI Aayog has prepared a Draft Strategy Paper for Make in India in Electronics.
This Strategy paper titled Make in India - Strategy for Electronic Products has been uploaded on NITI Aayog’s website and can be accessed here: http://niti.gov.in/writereaddata/files/document_publication/Electronics%...

We would appreciate valuable comments and inputs on the Strategy Paper from relevant stakeholders and public at large by 15th June 2016.

1. Manufacturing centers also need to be on Tier-2 cities probably in as many states as possible and transportation systems should be enhanced in all such places. 2. Single Window Clearance with highest transparency and tracking in every step and lower land costs/ discounts would attract lot of investments from India and abroad. 3. Associated social infra like hospitals, transport systems should be set up before such developements are pushed. As a result sustainable micromrkts may be created

Indian railways is going to be a huge consumer of electronics devices in the coming years. A tax concession or finance at concessional rate can be given to electronics manufacturers who supply to the railways. This can be a win-win situation for the government as well as the manufacturer.

Entrepreneurs and Investors like 'profit', and they will go wherever RoI is high. The biggest barrier for entrepreneurs and investors in Electronic industry is their products going obsolete and also it's finds cheap copies from Chinese makers. So, along with all the other soaps, like tax holidays, cut in excise duty, the government should provide 'plug and play' infrastructure. Developed land with built roof and manufacturers have to just to move in with their manufacturing equipments.
