Indian National Defence University Bill, 2015 proposes to establish a world class fully autonomous institution of National Importance under Ministry of Defence. University will develop and propagate higher education (PhD, M Phil, M Tech and M Sc) in National Security Studies, Defence Management and Defence Technology and promote policy oriented research on all aspects relating to national security, both internal and external. It would also encourage awareness of national security issues by reaching out to scholars and an audience beyond the official machinery. It will also serve as a think tank contributing to policy formulation and debates on security and strategy. INDU will inculcate and promote coordination and interaction not just between the three Armed Services but also between other agencies of the Government, the Civil Bureaucracy, Para Military Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, Intelligence Services, Diplomats, Academicians, Strategic Planners, University Students and officers from Friendly Foreign Countries. It would create synergy between the academic community and Govt functionaries. It would make available opportunities for higher studies through distance learning to interested military personnel.

Initially, four new colleges / institutions, namely School of National Security Studies, School of Defence Technology, School of Defence Management and Centre for Distance and Open Learning are proposed to be set up at main campus at Binola, Gurgaon. The four existing Defence Institutions namely National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune are proposed to be brought under the ambit of INDU without diluting their powers or autonomy for award of degrees and diplomas.

The indian citizens who are applying for passport the passport department asking birth certificate of panchayati office or mro issued certificate only. this system is very problamatic for passport seekers. tha valuable time and money are waste of passport seekers. The correpted employees willfull delayed to issue the birth certificate in time. plese think the administrators of external affairs department to consider 10 th class marks sheet for date of birth proof p sankarrao gcvindia@gmail.com.

there is a need to clearly define the role and scope/ charter for the University. My suggestion is that it should focus on research and policy formulation rather than on mundane issues. It should have strong exchange/ research affiliations with similar institutions abroad. Diplomacy plays a big role in security and strategic issues , therefore a good presence of personnel experienced in diplomacy should be ensured in the faculty/research work. Also, strong linkages with the services is a must.

My Suggestions : 1.In college level there should be a compulsory training for all students on National defense system and that should be linked to the proposed National Defense University . 2.There should be a course for youth between 25 to 35 years of age,if interested to serve for India, 3.The proposed Defense university should be IT centric.Cyber security, cyber defense mechanism must be taught to most of the student so that India will be a self dependent on addressing such kind of issue.

Although the NCC is already there in many schools across the country, it has failed miserably to instill Nationalism / Patriotism & discipline in the students. All they care about is a Certificate and Freebies that are offered to the NCC Cadets. Also NCC is not available in every school (my school did not have NCC). Although I was very much interested in NCC I never got a chance. Present education systems miserably fails on the discipline front. It all about Good Grades.
