Rourkela City, the steel city of Odisha, located on the banks of river Brahmani ,is in the process of revising the Smart City Proposal for participation in Round -2 of Smart City Challenge under Government of India’s’ Smart City Mission. Under this Mission Rourkela is required to prepare Smart City Plan and reformulate its own unique vision and strategies in upgraded format through active consultation of its citizens and all stakeholders

Rourkela Municipal Corporation requests all Rourkelites to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions to transform Rourkela into Smart City.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions afresh for the Area Based Strategies: Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area); Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure); Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable PAN City Initiative.
