Rourkela City, the steel city of Odisha, located on the banks of river Brahmani ,is in the process of revising the Smart City Proposal for participation in Round -2 of Smart City Challenge under Government of India’s’ Smart City Mission. Under this Mission Rourkela is required to prepare Smart City Plan and reformulate its own unique vision and strategies in upgraded format through active consultation of its citizens and all stakeholders

Rourkela Municipal Corporation requests all Rourkelites to share their ideas, suggestions, vision and innovative solutions to transform Rourkela into Smart City.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions afresh for the Area Based Strategies: Retrofitting (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing built-up area); Redevelopment (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure); Greenfield Development (planning and development in new areas) and also viable PAN City Initiative.

Rourkela Municipal Corporation solicit valuable suggestions in revised and improvised format from all the citizens of Rourkela. Grab this 2nd round opportunity to be a part of this challenge to transform Steel City into Smart City.

we need to take care of our heritage and culture along with new ideas, constant vigil by smaller groups like neighborhood RWA's on all the aspects of energy saving, recycling of waste etc along with cultural well beingbeing awarded recognition by the govt. could be one way ahead towards smart city #My_Rourkela_Shines

portal should be created which should have facility to register complaints and the response of the concerned department/officials regarding the status of problems faced by citizens in several public facilities like transport, cleanliness, functioning in Government/Semi Government offices, courts, hospitals, RTO office, Police Stations, Hotels and supply of wrong eatables, consumables items like milk, bread and others used by public in its daily life. #My_Rourkela_Shines
