A hillstation with such heavy rainfall should never have problems of water shortage. However, Kohima suffers from acute water shortage during Winters. Invest a good amount of the fund in rain water harvesting which can be used through effective metering and giving it to all households during Winter seasons.

Make Kohima the mountain biking capital of India - I ride to office by cycle(Mountain Bike) often and reach there easily thereby spending no money, burning fats instead of fuel and contribute to a green environment. Encourage people through subsidies to ride cycles and walk more often instead of taking out their cars. Declare at least once a day as a public transport, cycling and walking day.
