Dear Citizens and Stakeholders

Our city “Kanpur” selected for ROUND-2 under Smart City Mission. At present, Kanpur is in the process of preparing the revised Smart City Proposal. Therefore your valuable suggestions are solicited to revise the Smart City Proposal of Kanpur City for Round-2 submission to Government of India (GoI).
After a lot of deliberation among Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) official and the citizens of Kanpur, during Citizen’s Engagement Round - 1, Smart City Proposal for Kanpur included:
1. PAN City proposal
2. Area based development

So, we invite all citizens of Kanpur to participate in this review process where they can share their suggestions to help KMC reformulate the Smart City Proposal in Smart City Mission Round-2 challenge the links of which have been provided underneath and submit your valuable suggestions here within 30/04/2016.

Boring wells should be banned. Provisions of 24 hours clean water supply to each house should be made. No sewege pipe should drain directly into the Ganges river. Sewege treatment plants should be more effective than before. All the city's sewege should be treated thoroughly and made microorganisms free before draining it to the river. Incinerators should be used rather than landfills. #SmartCityKanpur #MyGov #MoUD

IT and manufacturing giants should be invited to Kanpur to setup their base of operations apart from NOIDA, Gurugram and Ghaziabad. The industrial and commercial policies if Kanpur promise high growth in future. Widening of roads aided by demolition, implementing strict traffic rules, imposing ban on all sorts of 3-wheeler transport vehicles including manual rickshaws, introducing more numbers of buses. These should also be the areas of focus. #SmartCityKanpur #MyGov #MoUD

Keeping in mind the commercial and industrial activity in Kanpur and the number of exports and overseas activities of businessmen, an international airport with a cargo terminal is must for Kanpur. It will give a much needed boost to the city's economy. Plus, the 3-wheeler "Vikram" autorikshaw should be banned totally which add to the traffic problems. The flyovers which are constructed in the city should be atleast of 4 lanes instead of narrow 2 laned ones. #SmartCityKanpur #MyGov #MoUD
