Belagavi is the oldest city in Karnataka with a rich history and culture. It is the 4th largest city in the state and the fastest growing urban center. Belagavi is also a business hub and education center of Karnataka. The city has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development for development as one of the 100 smart cities in India.

Belagavi City Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal with an intent to plan and provide smart solutions to urban infrastructure issues of the city and welcomes the citizens of Belagavi to post their views, opinions, thoughts and plans on smart solutions for their infrastructure needs related to water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, storm water drainage, housing, amenities related to recreational activities, sports facilities, energy efficiency, non-motorized transport, safety, electrification, open space development and management, healthcare, education, public transport, key infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, roads, underpasses, over-bridges, services such as e-governance tools etc. Inputs from citizens is crucial for framing a vision for tomorrow’s Belagavi and to get shortlisted as one among the top 20 cities in the first year, in the Smart City Challenge.

Come, let’s together make Belagavi a thriving and vibrant smart city.

1.Special IT zone should be created as Belagavi has large number of technocrats 2.Strict implementation of environmental rules should implemented to avoid the pollution 3.Outer Ring should be constructed to prevent the entry of heavy vehicles ( As more accidents are taking place on Khanapur-Goa road ( More colleges are in this road) 4.WiFi shaould be made available in public places for the security of Girls and women ( To alert the police or family member)

Vinisha .J. Salian KLECET // BM The narrow roads in several areas must be broadened. Parking lots in market areas must be properly maintained. Traffic rules must be made strict ,especially use of helmets indicators and horn!! Drainage systems must be properly taken care of , avoiding blockages(mainly in Angol area).

Underground Power transmission lines. Proper water facilities. Proper sewage facilities. Proper roads. Digitalisation. Industrial development. Enhanced facilities at Belgaum-One offices. Smoking must be banned completely. Proper Waste Management. Use of solar power must be increased!! Plantation of trees beside roads. Providing and proper maintaining of the mobile toilets. Proper education facilities. Enhanced network and internet facilities. Construction of overbridges
