Yes, the issues of urban and rural cleanliness should be tackled differently. There are so many issues which differ from each other like in rural area , there will be very less chance of industrial wastage compared to cities. We get all kind of wastage from cities , but few types from rural areas. So different approaches and methodologies should be followed for rural and urban areas.

To encourage cleanliness we can start programmes to reward the Cleanest City, Cleanest Road, Cleanest Housing Society, Cleanest Panchayat, Cleanest Ward and they should be suitably compensated by giving them more funds to upkeep the cleanliness. The jury should be independent of the local body officials to avoid partiality. Also a point should be added that whenever any functions or programmes are held in a designated place, it should be cleaned after completion

THE PROBLEMS WILL BE TOTALLY DIFFERENT IN RURAL AND URBAN AREAS.THE METHODS OF TACKLING SHOULD BE DIFFERENT IN BOTH THESE AREAS.IN RURAL AREAS, FOR EXAMPLE THERE ARE NO MUCH INDUSTRIES SUCH AS IN URBAN AREAS THERE ARE INDUSTRIES.POPULATION TOO COUNTS FOR CLEANLINESS SO THE AREAS OF MORE POPULATION ARE THE AREAS TO CONCENTRATE MORE ON THEN OUR MISSION OF TACKLING WOULD BE SUCCESSFUL.

The persons who pick the garbage and sweep the roads in cities should be treated with dignity. They should be given clean uniforms, gloves, brooms and other equipment. This will make them want to work harder too! In rural society toilet building is the only long term solution while promotion of composting can be a short term aim.

This issue is not being taken as seriously as it deserves by Gov , NGOs and public at large. Preventive measures will have lasting effect, but it is impossible to have them without punitive actions. For this transparency and time bound punishment should be defined and ensured, because habits die hard

There was cleanliness drive in my society where the streets were cleaned in the morning and by the evening, it was even more dirtier. So, a simple tag line of "Swachh Bharat" is not sufficient. If it is to be implemented, there should be much more stringent laws and the awareness of a clean society and its benefits much be spread among each sections of the society. The fire was there on October 2nd,2014, when it all started but lets hope it doesn't get extinguished very soon.
