2. One of the prerequisite for clean India is providing smooth well maintained roads in cities and other places. No clannishness can be achieved with broken roads and pot hole & water logging & improper, non functioning and/or clogged drainage system. Non pucca areas should be covered with planted grass to reduce dust. 3. Provision of a mechanized road scavenging system on contractual basis with heavy penalties for non performance.

1. Swachh Bharat mission can not be achieved without first providing basic infrastructure and then educating public and then imposing heavy penalties on those not following guidelines. First we must provide dust/garbage bins at many places, like in residential areas, roadsides, market places, hotels, restaurants etc. Then there has to be a machinery for point to point mechanical garbage collection from these bins on regular basis and then finally a system of scientific garbage/waste disposal.

When I was the General Secretary of Central Govt. Residents Welfare Association, Sector-1, Gole Market, New Delhi -110001. We have introduced Door to Door Collection of Garbage in the year 2000 at the cost of Rs.5/- per household. Which is still running successful. It is people's participation. But, we have paid a high price for its implementation at the initial stage. This is a very good model for implementation of Swatch Bharat in Residential Areas. We have never been rewarded for this.

Dirty Delhi flunks swachh test - Headline in TOI of date. No surprise news. Concerned Govt Deptts. are working towards making it worst. Any complaint registered by a citizen is attended to. We have only media blitz and photographs of our great rulers to relish. Very sad state of affairs. Jai Hind
