यद्यपि, साक्षरता दरों में काफी वृद्धि हुई है, तथापि साक्षरता में जेंडर, सामाजिक और क्षेत्रीय असमताएं बनी हुई हैं। साक्षरता स्तरों में ये उपलब्धिैयां, प्रौढ़ शिक्षा कार्यक्रमों की सफलता और प्राथमिक शिक्षा में सुधारों के कारण हुई है। तथापि, प्रौढ़ शिक्षा कार्यक्रमों और मुक्त शिक्षा प्रणालियों की पहल के जरिए सामाजिक रूप से लाभवंचित वर्गों और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले व्यक्तियों की साक्षरता स्तरों में वृद्धि करने की और अधिक आवश्यकता है। इस प्रकरण में यह राय प्राप्ति करने का प्रयास किया गया है कि हम, साक्षरता स्तरों में मौजूदा असमताओं को कम करने के लिए और अधिक प्रगति के लक्ष्य को कैसे प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।

To improve the education standards, the reservation policy should be lifted. Only meritorious teachers should be appointed and not on the basis of reservation. What a teacher would teach if he passes TCH, B Ed or M. Ed with reserved marks of 35%. Why people don't send their wards to the Govt.,Schools or Colleges or Hospitals? It is only because of the reserved teachers and Doctors who doesn't deserve the post and never contribute in the respective field with gratitude

To accelerate Rural Literacy more Skill-Based Knowledge has to be included in curriculum with special emphasis on Earning while Learning. Discovering inherent Talent & aptitude, Grooming & mentoring with special focus on Value-Addition. The Moment the Rural person realise that there is something to gain from getting Literate & Educated, He/She will utilise every possible opportunity to gain Knowledge irrespective of Sex/Age/Caste/Religion. Education has to be more Vocation-Centric & Skill Based.

Primary objective of Education is giving & sharing Knowledge.Unless Knowledge is Relevant & have some utility for the present & future time, we tend to give least attention to gain that knowledge.Therefore we must first learn the Needs of Rural India-Universal Needs,Regional/Local Needs,Special Needs on the basis of Age/Sex/ Religion/ Caste/ Trade.For Universal Needs,the Education should be Same across India.For Regional/Local & Special Needs, Additional Customized Knowledge have to be given.

The aim of Education is to acquire knowledge and not to become an Engineer or Doctor. Today we see, students study only objective type questions and answer and not the full lesson and the gambling on expected questions going on. There should and must be moral education to make younger generation a good citizen rather a good Professional. "Vidya vinayam dadathi" but there is no Vinayam with the so called highly educated generation because of lack of moral education.
