Our country needs improvement towards changing mentality of people especially those are from village and who considers girls as burden. I think girls should be made aware that they have right to education. There basic work is not only doing household works but also they should study so as to become independent and so that they don't have to demand only on their husband's earning in future. Educated people in rural areas should conduct awareness programs to aware people and should also teach.

In India, we are not getting provisional certificate after completion of 14 years. Please look in to the matter as this is top most important for all professionals working out side of India. All students are working very hard and completing their professional certification course. Un availability of certification leads unemployment even passing the course. Do needful please.

If gov take initiative for distance learning education then first of all ..all the Compony should get the employment to all the passout student to private or distance. This is very important step to move forward to distance education. because in this time most of the compony as like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture are preferred to regular student. This is not fair.

Today's report mentioned our Hon. HRD minister wanting to bring back the board exams. This, I feel, is a knee jerk reaction, of wanting to undo everything what her predecessor has done- right or wrong. For one, let us involve academicians, policy makers and eminent citizens and think where we need be 20 yrs from now? We need to address range of issues- teacher education, kindergarten education, language education, professional education, sex education, cultural upbringing, etc etc.

Brain drain is another important issue to be addressed. Students look forward to flying abroad after undergraduate studies and usually settle down abroad. Parents do not bother to sensitize them about serving their motherland. The tax payers money that goes to subsidize their education all goes for nothing!!! In some countries, the students are made to work for few years after their undergraduate studies before they want to pursue anything further. Is this a good step?

First of all, we cannot have one exam of 3 hrs to gauge what the child has learnt in 1 year. Capability assessment has to happen over a time period through a series of small tasks. Teachers need to be trained to handle such an assessment. Board exams are important but the weightage may be reduced. The current methodology does not stress on application of the knowledge and we lag behind other countries despite the may advantages our children possess.
