India's strength is its culture. Sell it. Here's how: 1. Recognize the foreign NRI institutions like Brihan Maharashtra Mandal. Some benchmarking criteria can be created to officiate these recognitions. 2. Allocate funds so that these institutions can celebrate and thereby introduce Indian culture / festivals to the locals. Imagine a grand scale Holi celebration in Times Square, NYC or Dussehra in London. Such large scale activities are bound to increase foreign interest, and thereby tourism.

I suggest the govt, just like yoga, make Ayurveda also global. For this, pls reserve at least free five seat in Ayurvedic medical institute for foreign nationals students. these students will take this expertise to their respective countries. This way we can retain our hold on these ancient skills and also can export Ayurvedic medicines. If properly planned and implemented can reach 175-200 countries and boost our tourism too.

NRIs can play a vital role in attracting tourist from the Citizens of the respective Countries in which they are staying through their local contacts, from their friends/ Business or professional colleagues. As they will be knowing them more closely & know about their choice, preference, likings, hobby etc. Based on which, they can discuss & suggest suitable options to them & also join them in their Tour to India. They can also involve their Friend & relatives in India in organising such Tours.

NRIs can play a great role in increasing the tourist arrivals, there needs to be forum where NRIs can share there idea and there views on the beauty and history of India. Making selected people Ambassador of the tourism. Thus there needs to be more movement in the group of people to make other foreigners aware about our India

Its a long term effort. We can attract tourist by hosting Megashows or events in India. A mega annual event in any one place within India with a primary focus on Tourism can also increase the inbound traffic. Each state can be given a chance to host the show with the full participation of the central gov. NRIs can sponsor or introduce his/her foreign friend to this show and free duty free shopping or free entry of his family members to the same show etc can prompt NRIs to promote the shows.

I've been living in Switzerland for 7 years and I can vouch that India has better tourist attractions to offer. We need to just manage it slightly better. Every state of Switzerland runs the tourism business as a corporate house. We need to do the same thing in India. Not just run it like a corporate business but get the Corporate sector to adopt states from a tourism perspective. Unfortunately the NRI community cannot play any major role, if the back end infrastructure doesn't support tourism.

why not? y cant we take initiatives in improving infrastructural development and improve the facilities to reach the rural areas what Kerala does. That the secret of success. see the adoptation of green movement in India.we have to learn from our own people. We must think why tourism is more popular in Kerala? It is only through oneness in this area. Why cant we create oneness among each and every Indian. We can do it only through providing NRIs with more subsidies, discounts or privilages. An NRI can do wonders for our Nation in each and every area of national development

Usually NRIs visit India either after long period gap or visit frequently for short periods. In both cases they are hardly aware of changes in infrastructure, transportation and other facilities at places of tourists' interest. At arrival they should not only be welcome in a separate line but also be served with literature to educate about the progress to promote tourism as they may explain their foreign friends when back to their home in their respective countries.
