NRI's come back to India to enjoy many things. One of the things that is sad to see is the rapid westernization and at the same time the erosion of Indian cultural and social values among the larger populace. It is wonderful to have western amenities nowadays but they should be balanced with original Indian customs. We have such a wonderful and rich heritage that is rapidly disappearing. There needs to be a way to make the general population proud of who we are. Japan is a good example of this.

Yes, Surely NRIs can positively impact tourism. Like I said on a different post, India is known for its diversity, We need to make use of its full potential. NRIs reside in countries which are subject to one perticular dominant climatic condition eg: Gulf = desert. In india we have deserts, beaches, rain forests, dry lands, snow mountains. Create a platform where NRIs can share (best practices) how these countries promote tourism, and someone in India filters these ideas to see if can be applied.

I am working on my startup www.mybhishi.com. Mybhishi.com will be the medium to promote philanthropy at grass root level and help the poor. Please visit the test site www.mybhishi.com and let me know how can I present this idea and get appropriate funding/resources/help from my government. I want to reach out to India PMO and Mr. Prime Minister. Mybhishi.com will create jobs, help poor, help non-profit organizations to make a better India.
