Citizen can take following actions:- 1- Being educated he/she should stay away from it. 2- Before purchasing a product, check about it through customer reviews and ratings. Companies can't fake it on a very large scale. 3- Do lodge a complaint if you feel cheated but after evaluating all primary options. 4- Save others from getting cheated. 5- Spread the news if a company ever cheats you, maintain proofs or you may face defamation case.

The main reason for this is misunderstanding and superstition. People don't know deeply about the things they're going for. Actually the advertising media play with our thinking and present their products like there can never be any cheap & best product for the requirements. The preventive measures should be : 1. The government should make strict rules and regulations for people wellness like no any product will be in market before getting a valid permission or we can say a trusted license approved by government. 2. Some advertisement for the above rules should be given like we find ISI hallmark for jewellery to let people know. 3. Government should make web site and a toll-free no. to get info about fake and illegal advertisements from those who will give information about these illegal activities with audio or video or picture as a proof. 4. And lastly strict actions should be taken for illegal activities. 5. The main support from us will always be towards the government for these rules. * Some requests from us: when we use "STRICT" word, we don't get the feel of this word. And obviously about "RULES" & "PUNISHMENT". The main cause for this is CORRUPTION. The above suggestion will be futile if the word "CORRUPTION" standstill. I hope that my voice will be supported and analysed. And We Are Waiting For Your Favorable Action.

A reporting mechanism like one for unsolicited calls (1909) can be put in place. One for print & another for electronic media. Further, each ad should be identifiable by alphanumeric id, which should be displayed prominently. For loose pamphlets, the printer should suffix a running number to the licence to make it identifiable. A person can send SMS about the misleading ad quoting ad id & briefly describe misinformation in it. Other channels like email & website based reporting can be added.

First there should be a effective and strong forum like cyber crime to report the misleading advertisements. A facility to report by Email and Toll Free number must be provided. Then they must act strongly against those who send such fraud SMS and mails. TRAI must wake up and issue a strong message to all mobile service providers to protect the privacy of its customers info. This has to be implemented immediately.1909 sevice is not effective. If Government is really serious it must act soon.

In my opinion if a person finds any advertisement misleading the public they can firstly complain the concerned advertising company that they should put down their advertisement as it is not appropriate. And in other case they can do a polling through the social media or the newspapers that how much percentage of people find it misleading and with the proper data he/she can complain to the concerned ministry.
