Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. In the next phase, Varanasi has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities.
Citizens and stakeholders of Varanasi are requested to post their views and suggestions on the Smart Vision Statement for Varanasi to be developed as Smart City. The solutions, suggestions & views should reflect the Vision of the City.
Vision:

“To revive the Glory of Varanasi by conserving and promoting its heritage and protecting its cultural and traditional environs to boost tourism and employment, provide quality urban services, accountable governance to enhance the quality of life of citizen”

Dedicated lanes for different modes are always a good soluytions to the problems created through mix flow of the traffic There should be more public transport facilty in the town There should be less electricity commercial and technical losses in the smart city Vehicles may be permiited as one way in some of the areas There should be different method solid waste collection and transportation in different parts of the citY.
