The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) is pleased to inform you that our City has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with others to make it to thetop 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

Raipur is now required to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with its citizens and other stakeholders. Your City needs you!! So, RMC urges the citizens of Raipur to share their opinions and ideas to make your city “Raipur- a Credible Smart City”. Your views are valuable and can make a difference to your city!!

A smart city shall be smart, only when its citizens will act smartly. I have a humble submission, as attached, captioned “A Smart City of My Dreams” - Introduction of smart cards for the smart citizens. For you please.

The city to become smart should first cater to make railway station,airport, bus stands to be clean with modern infrastructure facilities. Traffic congestion and road conditions needs to be attended on priority.

The city planners should look into creating biogas from the wastes created by the city as this would not only create fertilizers for the nearby farms it would also create biogas which could be sold to the poor in a subsidized price and help the state raise funds

Smart City Project is one of the biggest challenge as well as the opportunity for the state of chhattisgarh. I hope to see raipur as one of the Smart City of India.
