Handloom products constitute an integral part of the India’s heritage and culture. Varanasi has a rich cultural heritage and Banaras silk sarees and crafts are an integral part of the Indian landscape. Varanasi handloom makes India proud of its heritage. The handloom and handicraft products of Varanasi have got wide recognition all over the country and abroad for their highly artistic design, colour combination, superior craftsmanship and long durability.

Keeping in view the vision of making the handloom and handicraft industry of Varanasi and neighbouring areas, market oriented and for generating productive employment, the Government of India is setting up of a Trade Facilitation Centre and a Crafts Museum to develop and promote the handlooms, handicrafts and silk products of Varanasi and to provide necessary help to weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs of Varanasi for boosting their marketing activities in domestic as well as international markets and carry forward the rich tradition of handlooms at Varanasi.Hon’ble Prime Minister of India laid foundation stone of Trade Facilitation Centre and a Crafts Museum on 7th November 2014 at BadaLalpur, Varanasi.

According to study, it is found that bribery was reported by companies who got their business permits a month late by those that accessed informal sources of credit. It is also noticed that many of the firms affected by corruption are small and medium enterprises which account for approximately 99.6 percent of all registered firms in the country, employ 69.9 percent of the total labor force and generates 32 percent of the national economy, I guess.

Efficient public goods & services, and a more business-friendly environment could help eliminating corruption in the country. It is found that more corruption occurs in cities with very poor business environments. It can say that, there are higher opportunities for corruption in areas where public goods and services are inadequate which are mostly fulfilled by small scale industries. Therefore need to promote more Industries and give them license after successful established through single wind

Govt giving special importance to Trade is nice,as abt the trade facilitation centre it should be scrutinized into 3 Levels for according to The skills of the weavers 1st level -professional level fr the 1 who is excellent in quality 2nd for -the 1 who is mediorce or average quality 3rd for the worst quality or the beginners . Above writtent 2nd & 3rd should be given training & and equipments so that they can reach out at professional level and best quality hence can also compete in market

unless all business related laws, rules/procedures and taxes are re-written, made citizen friendly, such piecemeal/cosmetic approaches will not help entrepreneurs and craftsmen. there is need to dissolve large number of archaic govt bodies/central services, whose existence is solely based on extortion/exploitation of businessmen. Modiji said that all outdated laws will be repealed. Even after 1 year, it has'nt started. the 2 year window for bitter medicines is wasted. shock in 2019 awaits BJP.

Traditional designs of the silk and handloom textiles can be modified and should inculcate the designs from other countries this will help them to be popular at international level.

Its a great initiative taken up by the Indian Government. But for the growth and fulfillment of these craftsmen in my view is that it should be flourished with the help of PPP.

yeah it's a great initiative by our government but i would request government to make it independent organisation and its head should be a person from commerce background. there should be no political intervention in this market it should be a model of pure business not vote bank politics. connect this system with digital world.
