During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

My two pence: 1. Release the market from the grip of the government, make it easier to run start and run businesses. This will create job opportunities, which will keep people occupied, instead of getting depressed and turning to drugs for satisfaction. 2. Also make it hassle free for professionals to open up rehab centers for those addicted.

My Idea is specific to College and University Students Case : I would like to suggest that Every First year student should be allowed to plant a tree in campus or city and take care of it though his college life along with studies. And after completion of college these plants should be named after there caretaker. In this way It would be a good habit for the student also and he would be away from drugs. :)

Drugs can be controlled through top to bottom approach. Yoga is the best medium we have so far. we should make it mandatory in all corporates, govt institutions. because when we tel youngsters not to go for it. they say ceo of this company does this so why shouldnt we. we have to polarise in here. here yoga is the only medium til now

Shops near education centre upto distance of 300 meters should completely stopped. And clear warning should be issued to shop owners that they will not sell drugs, cigarette, gutka etc to children below 18 years other wise they will be punished. And gutka should be banned in India. Manufacturer, seller and consumer should be punished.

Introduce YOGA and GIMS, near the schools and colleges with a nominal fees. Give fitness certificates to those who complete the term and this must be a plus point criteria for higher studies.Such students must be rewarded for tips on their friends falling into such traps.

First of all, I hope the government understands the difference between Anti-corruption and counter-corruption. we can't fight this menace under the laws that have been in place for the last 60 years or so. Keeping in mind the current set of groups that are acting against this menace, I guess the proper approach would be to create seperate wings, seperate laws, that reports to a central body. Educating children in high-schools and colleges, keeping a close eye on slum population.i want 2 write

as we all know that mostly youth is taking heavy drugs to reduce stress, from there life. so there is a option here from my side. in my point of view govt. should set up govt. medical stores (especially for those drugs which are critically harmful if needless taken) in govt. hospital or into police stations where the youth will be afraid to go in. but the private medical stores must not be permitted to sell them. Thus the rate of taking drugs will decrease.
