During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

First we need to provide help and support for people who have already addicted to drugs.A proper mechanism should be formulated for them.Second we need to create awareness among youths about the harmfulness of drugs.Reward should be given to persons who have successfully given up addiction.Most important point is that there are fewer psychiatrist in India so need to give permission to psychologists for prescribing medicine.

I would suggest narcotics wing to use this information on internet and catch the drug peddlpeddlers. I'm surprised that police don't know this information about drugs which is available on internet. It is time for narcotics department to get determined and work for the country seriously atleast now. Make it difficult for drug peddlers to survive in India.

Please Ban sale of Cigarettes 100 mtrs from any colleges, schools, universities and above all Sale of Hukka Pots should be restricted. In Mumbai the Cops stand all day fining riders not wearing helmets and filling their pockets whereas they should be catching anti social elements selling drugs, eve teasing women, chain snatchers, smokers in public which are more dangerous to the society than the bikers.

Dear PM sir, i am M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) student at NIT Bhopal, what i think that our cine stars (cinema world) can do very good work to prevent drugs... by not using it on movies if you say them to do so....... thanks.

Inculcate indian values in the individuals, then they will not feel lonely and be connected with people , share their feelings and there would be no need to go for drugs. people go for drugs to forget sorrows . If there are ppl to share sorrows , then drugs would be redundant.

1."cutting the supply" : drugs (tobacco,cannabis/ganja,LSD) are now freely available for school or college students ,an administrative effort with strong conviction and planning will be the core around which the solution lies. 2."make a chain " : any reform should be a college or community specific, where when a single person is reformed he should be made motivated to reform another person bcoz that person who has been there has an advantage while interacting with addicts 3.empower "TEACHERS"

- Create awareness against drug addiction, after effects, losses caused by it, career spoilage - Convince the beauty, peace and happiness in lives without drugs. Few life witnesses or sharings are recommended. - Strong legal provisions and implementation against drugs users, smugglers, dealers. Special control force is mandatory. - Steps to improve facilities in rehabilitation, treatment and recovering. - Introduce anti-drug lessons in school syllabus. - Continuous checking in sensitive areas
