Public awareness along with strong administrative control over sales of illicit drugs is the key to decrease drug use. Along with this long term measures like improvement of employment and upliftment of BPL should be considered as an integral part of drug abuse control. Most important immediate measure is to improve moral environment in country. But unless drug trafficking is control at administrative level all measures will be failure due to inherent tendency of human behaviour.

Sir, it would also be welcome if apart from the issue of drug addiction, you could say a few words on organ donation. In a country where the need for organ replacement is high, we are still depending on live donors (kidney / liver). If, we could encourage cadaveric transplants it would go a long way in tackling end organ failures. Many societies are compelled by religious issues & false beliefs to go against cadaver donation, but no religion truly prevents you from helping a brother in need.

Education against drug use must start in school and at home. Every person, young or old must be educated on side effects of drug use. Sports figures and other celebrities must speak against drug use. This can be done in schools and TV channels.

Sir, a healthy body houses a healthy mind & vice versa, Sri Vivekananda insisted on a disciplined life, physical fitness (even encouraging football for youngsters) & inspired thinking. Present day youngsters have easy access to habit forming agents, an altered moral compass, lack of sufficient guidance with nuclear families & working parents & peer pressure. A supportive family environment, healthy friendships & wholesome education can greatly decrease this menace, not by increased policing.

Cases of destitute children turning as drug addicts must be analysed to know the route of drugs reaching them and effective measures taken to plug the same. Certain kinds of drugs may be considered to be decontrolled, as done in the West, so as to demotivate the addicts and smugglers/peddlers. The NCB be made autonomous, answerable to Parliament, staffed with officers of impeccable integrity.

At first the strong drug regulatory body should be in India like us-fda, and it should not be governed by medical council of India and must be separate regulatory authorities so it can be overcome the drug menace......I request to pm kindly concern on it ..thank you

A volunteer joining programme in each district should be held by directly central gov. In which volunteer join as a member confidentially inform about the drug supplier in there area to reach easily. It is observed that all drugs rackets are working under local police help. So free independent volunteer can help us to avoid supply but it should be confidential.
