During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

I have seen many people on drugs .Its mostly the condition of the society and dysfunctional family contribution. The child feel lonely and worthless. When one loose respect to each other as a being and only be judge by the wealth they have ..we deteriorate. The Problem in india is we dont know how to respect each other like in other countries. Also acupuncture , Ayuvedic way is the best way for healing ..Thanks

Best approach would be to rope in 1 or 2 students from each college or university and police should tie up with them . the identity of these students shall not be disclosed . Big picture is no use in punishing a drug addict as he needs to be rehabilitated but getting hold of the distributors and form a chart as to flow and supply of drugs and the above students can provide useful information regarding this . we must try to address the root cause . to solve the problem, just adopt world's strongest laws on drug abuse. As far as harsh drug laws are concerned, Singapore has among the toughest on the books. ek or bekoofi bhara kanoon is desh me hai ki gutka khaini band ho gaya hai par company wale pan masala or sath me tobaco ka pouch dete hai jise log aapas me mix karke khate hai.is tarike ke kanoon par rok lage, drug mafia ke bare me sarkar ko sab pata rahta AI KI KON YE KAR raha hai unhe pakad kar rok lagai jae hame sakht kanoon banane chahie

I have seen several anti-drug centers in Sonipat haryana fleeshing the innocent people .They are simply hording people inside rooms and leaving them on their own without any treatment except a tablet.Govt should open such points under civil hospitals to give them medicines and under social welfare department for their upkeep..If the patients are to be confined ,why not use the prisons .Open welfare blocks in prisons for drug affected people until they leave the habit for good

Dear PM Sir - I consider cigarettes, pan masala as part of drug which kids are increasingly using. Why can't we have complete ban on their produce. On one side we say we should not use but on other side we produce them. Please think. Only having law does not help, is it being implemented?. I have seen shops selling cigarettes etc to children below 18 in Calcutta without any fear. Have dedicated class each day in school for creating awareness among kids by making it interesting not by forcing.
