During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

The addicts need lots of love and care and long and regular regime of pranayam, yoga and meditation to get back their self esteem and come out of drug addiction. The organisation like 'Art of Living', Himalayan Institute of Swami Rama, etc are equipped to help in the matters. Govt. may take initiative to convince these organisations to set up long duration camps in drug affected regions to help the matters. I am (reasonably trained in yoga and pranayam) too ready to spare my time as volunteer!

Everything is possible. It is bare fact that whatever changes we are noticing are coming only because of Supreme Court of India and News Media. There is no role of any politicians except some like our Honorable Prime Minister of India. There is a need to see the root of the problem. Root is Corruption. Corruption is flourishing because of the fear. Fear of Service, Fear of Security, etc. Corrupt persons are also not happy they also live in fear then why whey involve in corruption? Think

I feel that sir a strict implementation is required and eliminating the problem from the root is important. Young buds like me fall prey to drug habits because three reasons i.e. social, psychological and due to lack of education. Although, drug addiction is a social taboo and illegitimate still our youngsters are doing this just because they think we are cool. What I feel the best solution to these problems is making courses like YES!+ mandatory in schools all over India. Better to start from G

Respected Sir, Please note first apol we have to stop giving cigretes or tambaku products to children below 18 age as i seen in many shops there are still such things happening in shops where such things are observed, our new generation is going through this attempt, so this the first step and the 2nd step is too shut down the pubs and discos where the youth get together at one place and such things are happened over there or a police should be ordered to have a look and be there steady.

conduct awarness programms for school childrens and college students regarding issues related using various drugs and thir making health problems .motivate the childrens avoid using drugs...

Youngsters should be checked from getting access to drugs , but to do this we need stringent measures. I belong to Bihar and alcohol is not banned here. Its all for want of heavy taxes. If the objective is only to free the youngsters , then there should be complete ban on tobacco-cultivation and a complete ban on the production, supply and retail of alcohol. Its a time to give-up thinking of the consequences of non-availability of these to the addicts & loss of taxes.

Menace of drugs is maximum in street children who generally start from products such as sniffing dendrite (adhesive) amongst others. If a curb can implemented on packaging of smaller sizes of such products(i.e. packets of Rs.5 or 10 or 20), then buying of such products by street childrens would be difficult. It wouldnt completely stop but may be restricted to certain extent. Stress should be put on restricting the children from entering into this crime also.

माननीय प्रधानमंत्री जी, मादक प्रदार्थ मानव जीवन के लिए बहुत हानिकारक है चाहे वो ड्रग्स हो या शराब आदि ! इनकी लत देश में बढ़ती जा रही है खासकर युवा वर्ग में ! इन मादक प्रदाथो के कारन ही समाज में आत्महत्या, दुर्घटनाये , घरेलु हिंसा और महिलाओं के प्रति अपराध बढ़ रहे है जो की हमारी भारतीय संस्कृति को कलुषित कर रही है इनको रोकने के लिए समाज में जागरूकता बदनी होगी ! स्कूलों में बच्चो को इनके बारे में जागरूक करना होगा क्योकि शिक्षा के माद्यम से ही इसे रोका जा सकता है
