During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

I was reading local daily "Gujarat Samachar" in Ahmedabad wherein they published that in Punjab during the Army Camp they found that Punjabis were not performing strongly as before. The menace of drug is all over India. In Gujarat also, we find all these non-sense items. This can happen only if Police is supporting them. Police is knowing all these things but they simply get an opportunity to earn some extra bucks. Unless and until corruption is removed, we will not come out of this menace.

punish the narcotic dealers with heavy penalty 8 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs.1,00,000/= fine That fine should go to de0addiction centres and repatriation work,

We all talk about banning Cigerretes but what about Beedi. This is a bigger consumable, easily available to everyone in rural areas.

Often intake of drugs is due to negitivity , depression due to manyfactor like unemployment... The best remedy from my point of view is that positive thoughts ..should be inculcated among the youth this positive energy will serve as a panacea .. And hum sab ko apni mann ki shakti ko itna prabal kar le to hum in sab se chutkara jaroor milega. Apne dosto me bhi hume positive energy ko wi fi ke tarah falaya jaye taki sabhi koi isse connect ho .. Iss drug menance ke liye sabse achi drug hai.

Apart from alcoholism an increasing trend of marijuana is prevailing among youngsters. Being a youngster myself I rightly feel this should be stopped. Special law squads to directly abolish this kind of activity should be implemented. Taxes on alcohol should be increased to a very very high level. Consumption of marijuana/bhang is increasing coz its available at a very cheaper rates and widely prevelent among students who know where to buy them. THIS NEEDS TO NE STOPPED RIGHT AWAY.

Sir, the film sector to show their heroes as non smokers and drinkers and drug addicts, and highlight this point. Many youngsters inspire from movies.

Legalize drugs, take the control away from the illegal agents and drug cartel. Legalization will give the gov the entire control. Tax these drugs and use the money on rehabilitation center. No matter how much money one puts on border control and other form of bans, illegal agents will find a way to enter the country. On the contrary, rehabilitation is a cheaper and efficient option. We call it addiction because it is a disease not a crime, so treat ppl who consume drugs as patients

Drug menace can be dealt through 3 ways.(1) love (2) Treatment & (3) Punishment.. Love the child.Give him importance .Hear his words ,take good suggestions and advice and counsel him about his wrong suggestions.Love him and show your love to him .Society should recognize him as a intelligent fellow being..(2)Treat the drug addict in hospitals .a de addiction Councillor should be posted in every hospital Give him some job after dis charge from d-addiction centres..Punish the dealers of narcotics

The Police and state govt need to identify areas and people where drug usage takes place. In Delhi Police is aware of the drug sellers and the living places og druggists, but no action is taken..They can be seen around Hanuman Temple in CP and on the opposite side , near the state showrooms. But no action is taken by Police or local admn.
