During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

the most commonly used drugs are tobacco and cigarettes the sale these products should be controlled by making some laws like banning the sale of loose cigarettes and tobacco their packing should be of more quantity like pack of 20 for cigarettes and small packing of tobacco should be completely banned whether in form of gutka or tobacco alone (as these things are readily available in the open market) this will also help in swach bharat abhiyaan

I really appreciate the idea's given by others but we need to emphasize on things that are used to consume drugs. OCB, Rolling Paper, Filters are one of those. These should be banned at all scales.

Every gram panchayat and muncipality should have activeyouth centres. Skills can be taught there. Creativity and yoga . motivational seminar to be conducted by mayors and ssarpanch. ...discussions will grand old men and women will give ideas and motivate youth in right direction

First thing to do is to completely block the availability of drugs.This requires intelligence gathering, monitoring etc. I think the Southern part of the Tamilnadu coast needs to be watched and some so-called sympathisers of pan Tamil movements have to be brought under scrutiny. IB, RAW have to establish listening posts in such areas.This area is a hotbed of extremism. Alien forces which do not like the emergence of Bharat as a strong power can easily destroy it by destroying its youth.

Drug addiction and crime rate are interdependent. Much of crimes like Rapes and other offences on women is due to drug addiction. The children on street are addicted to drugs. I don't find much difference between Alcohol liquor and drugs. PM sir if U really concerned about betterment of India then betterment of individual is very important. Strict applicable of law on illegal drugs imports and srtict ban on alcohol is need of the hour. 65% of india is youth but such youth is prone to drugs .

Encourage youth to learn choclate and fruit juice making. This will encourage them to sell healthy products. Food processing industries should be encouraged at village level. Market and advertise such youth brilliantly so that others are encouraged. Self esteem will be built as theybecome entrepreneurs and stay away from drugs...

As the state government in Gujrat banned the liquor in state so the govt of India should banned all drugs and gutkhas and liquor possibly. But the trend is moving towards a danger situation of growing more and more addicts .More over citizens should be aware of the misuse of drugs.And people should organise events for mass awarness on such topics with the help of local,state,and central govt

Looking at the value chain of drugs and I think the weak point in the chain is in the transport and distribution which we should go after. Lets look why:- Cultivation- Un avoidable as you can almost never match the profit with other cash crops. You can monitor remotely via satellite but you will end up annoying farmers who will vote against you. If its cultivated in far off places like Afganistan or Combodia then you cannot control Consumption- The more you try to ban or restrict, people wil
