During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

scientists / medical professionals can be directed to invent pills / injections which will create nausea for a particular drug like brown sugar, charas, ganja etc. the pill / injection need not be effective for all kind of drugs but must work for one type of drug at least.

In the current education system there is no training or counselling to the teachers or professors to handle the stress level among the children, most of them are very blunt and lack human approach. They feel they know everything, no need to upgrade their soft skills...instead they like the fault finding technique amongst the children. They do not have to concept of Targeting the problem but they target persons - as it is easy earlier one requires patience and lot change in the system & society.

Respected Sir, I have seen children of age 13-15 taking drugs. At that age they don’t even know by taking it what it could result into. They are going in wrong path. And there are many people who want to choose a better path. Drug addiction can’t be cured by a tablet, but can be cured by care, love and involving in different activities apart from drugs, which can be provided only by proper rehabilitation centre and by generating awareness about drugs to every Parent from school to colleges.

Preventive Measures: 1) Counselling ; 2) Reducing Stress; 3) Strict Controls by Police & 4) Enforcement of Law & Order. As I mentioned earlier for post counselling; for pre addiction counselling again Counselling cell is needed at Schools, Colleges, Village Panchayat, etc., 2) Education system is very stressfull-due to very high cut-offs and availability of less colleges in hometowns. Education should be fun learning for each group. First train the educationist to be more appreciative to studet

Drug is being used by the terror groups and anti nationals. It gives them easy money and weakens the Indian youth, which in turn creates social, security issues & destroys the progress. Liquor is also a greater drag for the society. look at the consumption of alcohol in Punjab-Hariyana-Keral-Tamilnadu. Till a few years back women were not consuming liquor, but now they are also in the grip of alcohol. It needs to be addressed to preserve social fabric& nation. Liquor lobby will not allow you
