During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

We need to work hard in school level. Strong action on the people who violates cleanliness pics of the country. Ban first the liqor in every states.

drugs hanikarak hai is me koi sak nahi,but janmanas me 2:1=gov:people karna hoga .means 2 kadam aap badhe 1 kadam people .i want to say only 4 ponts. 1 mins set badalni hogi ki nasa karne wala bahadur hota hai i.e standard icon ki sisa torna hoga. 2 sadi ,party function me ise ak tarike se compulsory bana diya gaya hai hum yuva dwara aur bare dwara igore v kiya gata hai is par dhyan dena hoga.3 political will k sath laws banana. 4 swach bharat misssion k sth add karna aur ise v jan andolan .

Specific causes of drug addiction are not known, but genetic, psychological and environmental factors are thought to play a significant role. Govt must take immediate steps to prevent the easy availability of drugs, The powerful nexus between the supplier and the taker needs to be broken. Exemplary and quick punishment MUST be meted out quickly.Special courts need to be set up and investigative Authorites should probe the police role at the thana level who turn a blind eye for monetary gain.

Sir , The current Generation and earlier one are too much influenced by Wester culture thru TV and online media . That I think has completed taken them away from our traditonal values which teaches use to differentiate Good and bad . All these are part of our Greate Epic of Ramayan and Mahabharat. So , I feel , we should introuduce both of these epic in Media in prime time and remove all unwanted program. Youngster need right direction and this country can't allow this country losses its value.

Initially to stop everyone should show their I'd of legal age before buying. this law must come. And please stop new law of purchase cigarettes. If smoker by packet he or she will smoke more. If they by lose cigarette they smoke less. The profits goes to both companies and retail shopper too. If they buy packet the real profit goes to companies directly. Or els please stop cigarette from India. It may be a trick of companies to create more sale. i am saying this because I am a smoker.

drug for medicine &for abuse-a hairline demarcation is there,both narcotics & medical drugs can be either cure or poison, in right hand, time ,potency & intention & vice versa..so control is a must at all levels with strict laws and will to implement

Check the easy availability of drugs. There is also the need to channelise the energy of youth. Games and sports should be encouraged. Glorification of smoking and binging in visual media should be discouraged or banned because it effects the young, impressionable minds adversely.

Hon. Prime Minister should encourage students in his next "Man ki Baat" to practice meditation. That will eliminate the need for drugs, because meditation produces a natural " high" of peace and bliss. It repaires the damage done to the nervous system by drugs. Side benefits are increased intelligence, creativity, better health, moral reasoning and self confidence. All religions support meditation in some form. A secular scientifically tested system of meditation could be taught in schools.

Illegal opium cultivation is rampant in many parts of our country because of huge returns from them. Hence govt should support the farmers financially by giving them secured jobs so that they do not switch over yo opium cultivation. Once the source of drugs is contained, then the supply in the market will automatically come down.
