During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Why youth think of these options of drugs or smoking or drinking,or illicit relationship? Is it just due the social pressure of friend circle or temporary enjoyment given by these options, is it due to lack of knowledge of consequences of these options. These may be true to certain extent and working on above option will help but will not cure it from the root. The root cause is every person expects some appreciation and engagement of their abilities where they may feel a sense of worth and love.

drug menace comes into picture when the root cause is depression. in student life major part of depression is shared by both teenage problems and added to it is the declining student teacher relationship. once the teachers in the education system reform themselves more and make the student much more comfortable and practical based then there will be half the reduction in consumption of drugs under reduction in depressions.

Yoga should be mandatory in school and colleges,. Parents are also sometimes educated how to manage your children and how to make them good person i n future.yes one more thing in present scenario working parents are so much over burden with their work that it is very difficult for them to give time to their children.so government should take action for filling of the vacant post and not to pressurise or over burden the staff with a lot of target oriented work .

compulsory teaching of yog for at least 10 years in school and also for all MLA/MP and for all polic officers, is the only gaurantee that our people will not fall prey to ongoing international drug aggression against our country

This serious issue can be tackled only by the strict control over those late night parties in pubs and clubs and also there are rackets operating in colleges we need to check that .Parents should also see their kids do not indulge in it. We need to make strict act and rules against the supply and intake of drugs

When there is a demand, there are products. The demand should be cut off. Parents should teach children good values. Youngsters should be well engaged. Teach them to live, not make a living. Stress, 'all work and no play' is leading them to look for distraction like drugs, alcohol, crime etc. High expectation about life and non-matching achievements is one of the causes. Bring them up realistically. The role played by family and school is great. We should strive to improve Happiness quotient.
