During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

To stop drug menace a awareness need frequently with a effective video to run on media, on radio. So it is easily reach to the people. A strong law required for those who were directly or indirectly involved in it. But it's not happen bcoz the Govt. whether it is Central or State get highest revenue from drug products. If the Govt. seriously wants to look into the matter then the first step is to be stop grassroots drug like Gutkha, Liquor etc. They r the way to reach a man at powder.

The best way to stop drug menance is to wind up Anti Narcotics Beauro firdt because they simply collect daily haffttas and issue drug licences and nothing more. To stop this menance the Govt should make it compulsory for every IPS officer to have one year compulsory posting in SIT on drugs. This sit should not have any jurisdictions and computer should decide one month assignment for a particular place. It can only stop drug menance otherwise it will go on Govt itself is providing safety net .

above all govts efforts what more can be done ,, first, there should be alternatives available in market , ex. Electronic cigarettes ,something same should be there for every drug . Second thing can be done is make sale of drug authorised , no illegal sale , and digital record should be kept, , govt should know who selling what and to whome , .. In my view , the will of govt is what is needed ,how govt treat drug manufacturers and illegal smuggling that's what matters most , however without involvement of society its not possible , ,, a bold step is needed otherwise this initiative going to become an another joke to smokers and drug providers ,, I appreciate the effort and pledge to not to have drug and spread awareness in my circle

Since tobacco has became a habit in drug inhibitors therefore we need to find a similar product which can replace tobaco. I think cloves(loung), cardamon (illaichi), sauff and mulethi can replace or atleast lessen the consumption habit of tobacco. These indian products are even healthy ayurvedic medicine salts with zero side effects and similar properties of attaraction as of tobaco.
