Varanasi, or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi`s Prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually unrevealed. Varanasi Nagar Nigam is now participating in the second round of Smart City Challenge to enhance its Smart City Proposal prepared in Round 1. This exercise is being carried out under the Government of India’s flagship program for developing Smart Cities in India. Varanasi, also known for as the city of light, its culture and heritage, is now the most potential city in the state of Uttar Pradesh for being selected in the next round. As per the Guidelines of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, the preparation of Smart City Proposal is citizen centric and the successful implementation for any city would depend upon the responses/ suggestions given by its citizens.

Expectations from Citizen: Varanasi Nagar Nigam has detailed out the Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats of the city based on the Focus Group Discussions. Varanasi Nagar Nigam would request all the citizens to support Varanasi by giving their valuable suggestions/ feedback in strengthening the Smart City proposal for round 2.

. it is due to unbalanced of natural condition ,increasing the deforestation. which create the problem of earthquake ,natural disaster , water fluid in kolkatta and kedarnath. The government makes money to repair the city affected by natural disaster . it result loss of india by money, by developement. Then why we make smart city if we may loss in future. If we want to protect our country we have to balance our environment by making smart city. And solution is given below

MOST PREFER PROBLEM i am discussing most important topic for india india is change day by day , there is many city which is under a smart city and many of people give there idea to develop the india. but i have special problem i live in varanasi , there is progressing work on ring road and 4 lane highway road but due to this there has cut thousand of trees which affect has increase global warning effect ,very poor air quality.

There was a best sewage system in Varanasi through its ponds, shahi nala expansion of city without knowing the historical and social status in surroundings of Varanasi caused present condition. Waste management require sincere efforts in this regards. The work done in is just for the sake of show off to work.

Dear Sir I believe dat smart city projects across d County will lead to overall development of a particular state since d majority of population is concentrated in few cities. It's a brilliant concept it will encourage overall development of d state since d other towns cities around it will also develop. D Greatest challenge will be power to dese cities. Sir We loose abt 30 % power which is generated in distribution loses. We need to address dis issue as a top priority. Thank u.

Here are few more important aspects that i feel is of utmost importance- 1.Lack of local leadership. They are no more People's Leader rather they are Party's People. like we say it, Bhajapa ka neta, sapa ka neta, and so on. 2.The local Party People need to learn that Narendra Modi opted Varanasi as his constituency, SO why is that each time he visits Varanasi, the Locals WELCOME him by putting hundreds of Banner all around. Apne hi ghar me SWAGAT, Mehmaan nahi hai MODI, Ghar ke sadasya hai

then smart varanasi city can emerge rapidly. Few examples of work done in varanasi long ago but it has not become beneficial to citizen of varanasi- So many water tanks constructed in varanasi in last two year and new water pipe lines were distributed but it is not operative sofar. same time since > 2 yrs whole varanasi city is dug in to ponds for sewages system , all pipelines are laid down by JYCA but still it is inoperative.

so they have become hope less for development of smart city- Varanasi. After two year of Prime Ministerial Constituency the authority involved in renovation of varanasi city has no fear that PMO is checking it. They take it very easy. That's why response to smart- varanasi- city public view is negligible. 3. Coordination among all constructing authority should be adhered strictly. The only bill payment and commission culture should be stopped .
