Ministry of Electronics and IT has drafted a Data Centre policy to benefit the Data Centre park developers/Data Centre operators as well as the allied ecosystem of the Data Centre sector. The policy envisages making India a Global Data Centre hub, promote investment in the sector, propel digital economy growth, enable provisioning of trusted hosting infrastructure to fulfill the growing demand of the country and facilitate state of the art service delivery to citizens. This document lays out a policy framework including various structural / regulatory interventions, investment promotion in the sector, possible Incentivization mechanisms along with the institutional mechanism required for the governance. The policy framework also seeks to strengthen the recently announced “AatmaNirbhar Bharat” initiative by identifying possible opportunities of manufacturing of Data Centre equipment (IT as well as non-IT) in the country. It also identifies possible areas of participation by MSMEs and Start-ups.

The policy intends to ensure sustainable and trusted Data Centre capacity within the country. This policy framework shall be followed by a detailed scheme with implementation guideline document providing the particulars of various fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to be provided to the sector by the Central and State Government.

For the same, Ministry of Electronics and IT invites citizen suggestions on the Draft Data Center Policy 2020.
Refer to the Policy document here : Draft Data Center Policy 2020

My D.L no TN70 20120012155 name Pallab Banerjee. The D.L was issued on 2012 from T.N as I was staying there. At present I am staying in Karnataka. So I have applied for KT RTO office for renewal (as it is required). I have applied for renewal of my DL through online payment in Karnataka RTO.I have received ack.no. But when I went the office directly to submit all the documents, they are refusing to take & asking for NOC. All data are showing in system then why NOC required? They are harassing.

5.2.1.5 - Please also consider fuel cell technology as a renewable source to power data centers. Many major corporate companies have invested heavily in the fuel cell technology along with solar and wind power to power data centers. Please refer: https://www.bloomenergy.com/data-center

The policy should Try to emphasize the use and development of open source software with no central controlling figure. This would not only allow smaller start ups to go against big corporations on an equal footing but also increase reliability of the said software. If the software used is open sourced it would also reduce the instances of malicious code being added to software without being unnoticed.

Governments should avoid protectionist policies, which would exacerbate disruptions to global value chains & amplify already elevated levels of uncertainty. Even more important, Govt should avoid restricting exports of necessary food & medical products such as Nitrile Gloves,Medical Goggles, N95 Mask etc & instead work together to support increased production & ensure that resources flow to where they are most needed.Kindly give thumps up if you like or thumbs down, if you don’t like Thank
