Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister in his Independence Day Speech on 15th August, 2014. The scheme has been launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister at a National level function held on 28th August, 2014 in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is National Mission for Financial Inclusion to ensure access to financial services, namely, Banking/ Savings & Deposit Accounts, Remittance, Credit, Insurance, Pension in an affordable manner.

The Yojana envisages covering all households in the country by 26.01.2015 with at least one bank account

Suggestions are invited for covering all Households under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana by 26th January 2015.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 25th December, 2014.

The Jan-Dhan Yojana has indeed helped many in opening the first bank account in their life. On my recent visit to Kolkata my cab driver Anisur told me how happy he was for being able to open the bank account. "Banks used to ask for so many papers earlier", he said. But my driver in Delhi Bipul could not open his account since he does not have any Delhi-based identity. I suggest that the Govt can ask the "introducer" system that was prevailing earlier. If I introduce Bipul it should suffice.

Arrange an agricultural exhibition in different areas and invite max farmers. Place a counter for opening accounts under jan dhan yojana who dont have it.

A camp should be provided in all the city,town & village so that people reach there for PMJDY Account every household who doesn't have a/c reach there children & women should be given privilege for opening first rs.50 per rs 100 should be stopped. KYC to be minimized to 1 document.

When a person reach to open jan dhan account. govt should provide them immediate aadhar card / pan card / debit card with bio metric procedure. which will stop corruption and people need not waste their valuable money for preparing each document
