Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Corporation depends on various public and private agencies to delivery multiple services to citizens. So governance, collaboration and integration of this network become very important to achieve objectives. Currently most of the cities depend on manual processes to govern, collaborate and integrate these agencies which leads to lots of inefficiencies and untapped potential.

Citizens access to city services can be improved significantly by providing multi channel(Web, Mobile, Kiosks, Face to face) citizens services facilities.

Technology can play an important role by aiding in improving governance, collaboration and integration of these agencies to significantly improve the city services. City command and operations centers can become the central hub for governance, collaboration and integration. Technology can also help in involving citizens by leveraging model and web channels for city management

Public uses of energy can be reduced by leveraging Smart Street lighting, Smart Building solutions etc. technology can also help in improving energy asset management, energy operations and customer service

City needs to redefine the waste management process based on circular economy concepts to reduce impact on environment and leverage waste to generate value. Technology can also help involving citizens in city sanitation using mobile and web channels.
