Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Issues around liability, security and privacy need to be addressed through comprehensive regulatory frameworks. PublicPrivate Partnerships (PPP) are key to build and operate both physical and digital infrastructure, especially given continually tightening civic budgets and enormous infrastructural requirements.

Issues/ needs of the residents of Trichy to have a peaceful life are related to health and safety, pollution, traffic, law and order , cost of living, and corruption The Vision for the smart city of Trichy is to provide liveable pollution free healthy environment with affordable housing to all citizens

Leveraging various technologies to create innovative solutions which are then applied to manage services that improve the quality of life for its citizens. A combination of urban planning, environment, IT, transport, and infrastructure has helped create a city where citizens can connect to the work network from a public park, and then meet a friend for coffee or shopping.
