Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

1.Connecting of major road to city should be min 100 ft and it should be 100 yr future roads 2.Needs more Gardens in city , bcoz city tension can decreases in garden only 3.Parking areas should be broad, bcoz day by day veh increases in city 4.Toilets should be near in every commrcial and crowd areas. 5.City should be different from other developed city -

Shall we invite to commercialise FM Radio in the city using All India Radio at Dharwad?similarly can ask Gov.of karnataka to operationalise TV station at Dharwad to bring in more cultural activities of NK thru TV channels

1.We need to make separate lanes for different vehicles in the roads and everyone should follow this. 2.Waste disposal is also a major prblm.we should recycle this by making use of plastics in road construction,dumping organic wastes so it will become manure. 3.Banning of plastics and drinks like coke,Pepsi must be banned because they are not a healthy drinks because it has high ph content in it.#MyGov

The following things should be done for the betterment of the city Underground Sewage system. Development of Renewable sources of Energy. Storm Water Management. Proper implementation of BRTS project and its completion within the time frame. We need to make it mandatory for new buildings constructed in city premises to provide some of the space for planting trees and promoting greenindia campaign. Safety and security of citizens

My Recommendations for Smart city Hubli- Dharwar 1.Wi-Fi network for whole city 2.Better roads and rail connectivity 3. Building more flyovers to ease traffic 4.Big MNC set up in Hubli 5.Connectivity to India metros and International through air and Train 6.Good water connectivity for new plants 7.Reviving IT park and and inviting big IT firms to Hubli

There must be good government hospitals with medical equipments and other facilities. Intelligent traffic system. There must be development of flyover so that blocking of roads due to vehicles can be stopped. Bars must be away from schools, gardens and temples.
