Opportunity
India is now the world’s most populous country, with rising consumer demand and a growing manufacturing sector.1 This creates extra demand for energy and transportation which will drive a significant rise in the country’s energy imports.2 As such, the Indian Government has stressed the need to decarbonise the transport sector and set target of 30 per cent electrification of country’s vehicles by 2030.3 Accelerating the deployment of rapid-charging infrastructure will help facilitate this transition

Shoonya Pradushan nature of Electirc Mobility gives wings to a Sustainable and Green Future to Viksit Bharat. We envision a world of clean fuel where we can do away with the fossil fuel Powered Transportation. At primitive stages of Shoonya Campaign, the Government should go for the Electrification of Public Vehicles especially at the level of Urban Buses, Interstate Buses and Semi-Urban or Rural Solutions. OEMs should be invited to undertake the task. Subsequently, citizens should be encouraged to scrap their diesel automobiles through incentivisation for buying newer electric two Wheelers or four Wheelers. The existing infrastructure of Transits in the Urban clusters must be supplemented with Shared Mobility Solutions using E-Bikes or E-Scooters especially for the Last Mile Connect. Furthermore, there needs to discouragement of Petrol and Diesel Cars with Taxes. Moreover, the reach of clean Fuels CNG and Biofuels in India is limited, and here Electric options are a viable alternate.
