Shivamogga City Corporation, Shivamogga in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Shivamogga City is the head quarter of malnad region located on the Western Ghats. Mainly Shivamogga City is known for its culture, education and commerce.

Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga has to submit a Smart City Proposal (SCP) to the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI which shall outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders unfolding the aspiration of people matched with the vision contained in the smart city proposal.

After first round of consultation and with the result of citizen aspirations we are uploading the main features of the proposal for citizen views. The residents are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal.

Area wise commercial complexes should be built. These complexes should have adequate parking facility. All commercial establishments from the residential areas should be shifted to these complexes. Ring roads and main roads should be free from stray commercial establishments. All should be in a cluster at one place. The buffer place so created in main rods should be used for cycling track, foot path, boulevard etc. Gandhi bazaar should be treated as heritage street and should be free from ALL

1. Special Smart City Road Management wing for repairing roads.Transparent Tenders and allocations to Good contractors -Dream to reality.Jobs only for locals. 2. Create Auto /Taxi Ombudsman with contact no displayed on all autos/taxis for reporting harassment/demanding undue fares. This can be applied to all smart cities. 3.Encourage tree planting in all Road sides /residential areas 4. HOPE and PRAY GOD that peoples suggestions will translate to reality

1. KSRTC Reservation counters in Railway Station,Train Reservation Counters in KSRTC Bus Stand This can be applied to all Smart cities. 2.KSRTC State Run City Buses including Women only services 3.Attention to improve road servies.Create a cell to report Bad roads and Man holes. 3.List of Places of Tourist interest including Major Temples and their Map with Distances in Bus Stand /Railway Station. Include contact nos of any Govt accommodation of these places.

First clear the all slums on the banks of the channels(Water canals0. accomadate those in one area, built the houses for them with Rapiddwall technologies it will reduce the construction cost and time (cost is only 60% of the conventional cost)
