It is heartening to note that remittances by the overseas Indians has touched USD 70 Billions. While it is healthy for our economy as a whole , it is best for the individual families , whose members go abroad and remit a part of their earnings back home . More the time this system works the better chances that family gets to improve its lot . But the person who has gone abroad does not necessarily remit all that he earns .

Families in India may or may not be aware about their fortunes lying in a far off foreign land , but the lack of a set mechanism is surely a hindrance along with ignorance and lack of funds in claiming their legacy . My personal observation is that most such cases ought to be in the knowledge of Indian Colleagues , relatives and friends of the deceased and there is a constant fear of such wealth being usurped by a mean or scheming fraternity individually or collectively .

It may be in the form of their unsettled wages , unclaimed payments , compensations , established businesses and Commercial and Residential Properties , which may be constantly growing in their value . While the Black Money is a recent concept the White Money may be more than Hundred years old and may be present in all the Countries of the World where our enterprising seniors or even ancestors have been to .

It is not only the BLACK MONEY that has been stashed in foreign countries , which the Government has to bring back , but there is WHITE MONEY also lying out there . And it may be far more than the Black money , which has been intentionally and mischievously stacked abroad and which may not be growing .The white money on the other hand is the HARD EARNED money left inadvertently and unintentionally by the CITIZENS OF INDIA , ( PIOs ) who died in a foreign land alone and away from their families
