Vanchinathan (1886 – June 17, 1911) , popularly known as Vanchi, was an Indian Tamil independence activist. He is best remembered for having shot dead Ashe, the Collector of Thirunelveli and having later committed suicide in order to evade arrest.

अंग्रेज़ अधिकारी सांडर्स की हत्या के जुर्म में शहीद-ए-आजम भगत सिंह और उनके दो साथियों को 23 मार्च, 1931 को लाहौर जेल में फांसी पर चढ़ा दिया गया था। इससे पहले लाला लाजपत राय की मौत के लिए जिम्मेदार सांडर्स की हत्या के बाद भगत सिंह लाहौर से दिल्ली के लिए निकल गए थे। वह कई स्थानों पर भेष बदल कर रहे। इस कड़ी में दिल्ली भी उनका अहम पड़ाव रहा। वे यहां पुरानी दिल्ली में भी रहे। यहां पर जिस व्यक्ति ने शहीद भगत सिंह को आश्रय दिया था, वे अभी जिंदा हैं। उम्र है 106 साल
