In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat on 27th September 2020, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke about the art of storytelling. He mentioned that the history of stories is as ancient as the human civilization itself. ‘Where there is a soul, there is a story’.

As we are going to celebrate 75 years of independence, Prime Minister urged storytellers across the Nation to share stories of many inspiring events during the entire period of our enslavement. Especially, from 1857 to 1947, stories around every major or minor incident during this period can be introduced to our new generation.

“May this art of storytelling become stronger in the country, become more popularized and easier to imbibe - this is something we must all strive for”: PM Narendra Modi

Do you know of any inspiring event during the 1857-1947 freedom struggle that isn’t so well known? Maybe a long-forgotten hero who did not get as much prominence as he/she deserved? Maybe an incident which played a minor but important role in our struggle? A story you might have heard from a family elder, many years ago?

Tell us, we will feature your story for all Indians!

Share your story in the form of a video, audio clip, picture or essay.

We should try to implement the Unified Civil Code in our country as soon as possible. There is no minority in the country. Today, everyone is self-empowered.

Lala Lajpat Rai's death and killing of Saunders In 1928, the British government set up the Simon Commission to report on the political situation in India. Some Indian political parties boycotted the Commission because there were no Indians in its membership, and there were protests across the country. When the Commission visited Lahore on 30 October 1928, Lala Lajpat Rai led a march in protest against it. Police attempts to disperse the large crowd resulted in violence.

Bhagat Singh reversed Lajpat Rai as a leader but he would not spare even Lajpat Rai, when, during the last year's of his life, Lajpat Rai turned to communal politics. He launched a political ideological campaign against him because Lajpat Rai was a respected leader,he would not publicly use harsh words of criticism against him and so he printed as a pamphlet Robert Browning famous poem, The Lost Leader,in which Browning criticizes Wordsworth for turning against liberty.so greater truth hard won.
