In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat on 27th September 2020, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke about the art of storytelling. He mentioned that the history of stories is as ancient as the human civilization itself. ‘Where there is a soul, there is a story’.

As we are going to celebrate 75 years of independence, Prime Minister urged storytellers across the Nation to share stories of many inspiring events during the entire period of our enslavement. Especially, from 1857 to 1947, stories around every major or minor incident during this period can be introduced to our new generation.

“May this art of storytelling become stronger in the country, become more popularized and easier to imbibe - this is something we must all strive for”: PM Narendra Modi

Do you know of any inspiring event during the 1857-1947 freedom struggle that isn’t so well known? Maybe a long-forgotten hero who did not get as much prominence as he/she deserved? Maybe an incident which played a minor but important role in our struggle? A story you might have heard from a family elder, many years ago?

Tell us, we will feature your story for all Indians!

Share your story in the form of a video, audio clip, picture or essay.

Jayi Raj guru was a stalwart warrior, a remarkable hero, a radiant personality, first and foremost martyr of this land. He fought against mighty Britishers in the pre-nationalist age as a great leadership was a vital prime factor in the freedom struggle. He rebelled first against British Raj opposing their oppressive policies and political hypocrisy. He was one of the greatest fighters who fought bravely for liberation of motherland from powerful imperial force.

Our motherland India got freedom in 1947. we enjoy totally freedom but we must remember the struggle ,done by our heroes like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Bhagatsinh, Mangal Pandey and many more behind it. If we want to save our Independence, we must fight against poverty, illiteracy, social cast difference, child harrassment, abuse. Freedom is very important for any nation, so we must save and protect it. We must get together for it.

India got independence on 15th August, 1947 but many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for it. Bhagat Singh and his friends continued their hunger strike for 112 days where Jatin Das died. Lala Lajpat Rai sacrificed his life for the sake of the nation. One unsung hero is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose who raised the slogan, "Give me blood, I will give you freedom". After so many sacrifices and bloodshed, today we are taking breathe in an independent nation.
