India has a rich legacy of practices and knowledge touching different spheres of life and a scientific heritage traversing various Science & Technology (S&T) domains. The traditional knowledge of India is available in various forms such as classical texts, manuscripts and/or as oral communication that has been passed on over thousands of years. This valuable knowledge is often part of our daily practices as well. Some of the traditional practices are livelihood means of the concerned knowledge holders. Our traditional practices exist in synergy between human needs and nature, often balancing resources and requirements in a local context. However, with time, India’s Traditional Knowledge Systems are eroding rapidly, and the nation has also been witnessing erosion in people’s faith towards our traditional knowledge. A grave concern is the mindless attitude of some to mimic non-Indian cultures and disdain for our traditions. It’s important to recognize that traditional heritage is an integral part of any country’s development and progression. This calls for necessary attention and action from the concerned stakeholders in the country to build further on our scientific inheritance. Only a well-informed and balanced society can drive the advancement of the country.

Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and President, CSIR Society, Shri Narendra Modi, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is spearheading the efforts to collaborate with the relevant partners from across the country and implement the national initiative SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge) for communicating India’s traditional knowledge to the society. CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is the nodal organization to implement this national initiative.

The prime mission of the initiative is to conserve scientifically validated traditional practices, and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific values of our traditional knowledge/practices.

We invite the suggestions of academicians, researchers, subject-matter experts, students, NGOs, and the public on how to instil confidence in society about our traditional knowledge and practices. This will help us in our mission to inculcate a scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens by stimulating the Science-Scientist-Society connect towards our traditional knowledge and practices.

*Sanskrit & Hindi, if taught meticulously, have the power to make our cognition very sharp. I am a Psychologist & conduct sessions for cognitive restructuring, behaviour modification, skill enhancement etc. I get amazing improvement in my participants in language development sessions! *Like drawing etc., regional handicraft should be taught in schools. *Instead of taped songs, bhajans etc. should be sung using musical instruments in Temples (without loudspeakers though) *Grey hair colored with Mehandi & amla, should be a preferred dye, rather than chemical dyes. *On Saturday, traditional outfits should be worn by the students (but it should be managed properly, otherwise some students who aren't able to arrange such outfits might suffer from inferiority complex). *Film makers should add atleast one folk song/dance in each film. *Documentary films on Indian culture & tradition should be made part of course curriculum. *Garba, Dandiya etc. shouldn't be commercialised. Jai Hind!

Please pay attention to the huge corruption in Revenue department. Just to favour criminals like Mahatam Yadav who is a professional criminal and land grabber (District-Kanpur Nagar, Police Station- Babu Purwa, Crime No. 436, Year- 2007) they tell that your house is not a house and it's a land even though we are paying electricity and house tax, even though we are there since last 25 years and dven though Nagar Palika has registered 'Aabaadi' , even though we have taken stay order from high court snd civil court. Can you Imaging how much suffering public is going through just because there is no punishment for criminals who are there is government offices? Suggestion: Don't take care of government criminals just punish criminals. punishing doesn't mean just suspending someone for a couple of weeks or just doing transfers. Punish the criminals in the same way as they deserve. Source: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=19rx-IH0Uq7iLeImo08dx8rSGDuFbg9QV

Related to Passport, we have only automated appointment booking, nothing else. In order to stop corruption, please record from when someone enters the POP, do the automated recording of his existing passport pages and audio recording of the officer too. Please record all the suggestions given by the officer somewhere when some has Appeared as per the appointment. As sometimes just due to corruption it takes 4 months for the passport. How will you handle that corruption in which the officer himself removes some of the digits of ghe passport by scratching his nails and threatening to categorize your passport as damaged and asking for 1500 Rs. more??

1. India is the oldest civilized country and is the oldest scientific civilized nation that we feel proud of. 2. Unless we start teaching our generation about the rich heritage they never knew how advance we are in every field. 3. we must stop running after Europe and stop looking the things from the Europe perspective and develop our own vision of perceiving things. 4. We go back to our Veda and ancient techniques with the upgraded version of our previous knowledge. 5. Promote Hindi in software skill and a programming language along with Sanskrit.

India have great treasure of customs , traditional knowledge , culture , but now a days our new generation neither taking much interest to know about it nor our education system is awareing about it. All this knowledge will be lost after after a period of time. To spread it and transfer it to new generation , our education system may play major role beyond the books. Every year , every school may sponser some Good students for tours in far remote villages in other states and stay there in their homes with prior approval of the village. It may be held under students exchange program. The students will learn the culture, traditional knowledge in different walks of life. Such students, after returning back will become Master Trainer in a particular knowledge along with their regular studies. They will become a good communicator and messanger and our traditional knowledge will be live years after years. It will also boost social harmony accross the State borders.

Respected sir, I'm Milli Saha . Firstly thank u for your concern . I just want to share some of my opinion about our education System . I'm from West Bengal (Kolkata).our country is very much affected by COVID 19 . Especially our educational system is tolay ruined . Students are really not getting the actual facilities .They are really suffering . May be they adopt digital education ,but they are forgetting about the besic education . They are only attracted to internet and social media . They are not taking education seriously .They are aware of their future . So I think it's better to go with the offline class And private schools and universities are much more facilities than govt. schools and universities . So who are not have that much of money cannot get right education so I think our govt. should think about .That's All I want to tell you . Thank u . - Milli Saha

School is a temple of learning. Adding subjects and chapters to our school period about our traditional knowledge and practices and educating about Real Indian ancient history will help us to connect with our tradition. Knowledge should be given about how our religious practices are logical and have scientific advantages. Familiarizing with the contribution of Rishi-Munis in the fields of health, medicine, surgery, astrology, law, development, grammar, philosophy, military science, astronomy, Ayurveda, yoga, administration, mathematics, etc. The people of the current generation have been following a myth that our tradition and traditional practices are just superstitious, as they lack knowledge. This knowledge gap must be fulfilled. Learning about scientific reasons behind our tradition will develop deep-rooted connection, fondness and respect.
