India has a rich legacy of practices and knowledge touching different spheres of life and a scientific heritage traversing various Science & Technology (S&T) domains. The traditional knowledge of India is available in various forms such as classical texts, manuscripts and/or as oral communication that has been passed on over thousands of years. This valuable knowledge is often part of our daily practices as well. Some of the traditional practices are livelihood means of the concerned knowledge holders. Our traditional practices exist in synergy between human needs and nature, often balancing resources and requirements in a local context. However, with time, India’s Traditional Knowledge Systems are eroding rapidly, and the nation has also been witnessing erosion in people’s faith towards our traditional knowledge. A grave concern is the mindless attitude of some to mimic non-Indian cultures and disdain for our traditions. It’s important to recognize that traditional heritage is an integral part of any country’s development and progression. This calls for necessary attention and action from the concerned stakeholders in the country to build further on our scientific inheritance. Only a well-informed and balanced society can drive the advancement of the country.

Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and President, CSIR Society, Shri Narendra Modi, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is spearheading the efforts to collaborate with the relevant partners from across the country and implement the national initiative SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge) for communicating India’s traditional knowledge to the society. CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is the nodal organization to implement this national initiative.

The prime mission of the initiative is to conserve scientifically validated traditional practices, and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific values of our traditional knowledge/practices.

We invite the suggestions of academicians, researchers, subject-matter experts, students, NGOs, and the public on how to instil confidence in society about our traditional knowledge and practices. This will help us in our mission to inculcate a scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens by stimulating the Science-Scientist-Society connect towards our traditional knowledge and practices.

India with its traditional knowledge of housing has survived for many generations evolving greater level of civilization, with out harming the environment. Raw material used were all environment friendly or least virulent, to disturb nature, houses were cooler in summer and warmer in winter, with least energy consumption, built only for essential and need based, wastage was minimal, living and lifestyles values oriented, people never wanted to burden mother earth in their pursuit for comforts avoiding luxuries and greed, which is one reason why whoever entered India from ancient days never liked to cut off relationship with as is even today the wild Britain never wants to turn away from our nation, but our traditional knowledge is totally value based, fully time tested for ages, Cosmic in character, universal in application a feature of Permanence in a Impermanent realm, in Scientific terms, it is ultimate, as Ethical and eternal to be detailed in particulars, hope we take the endeavou

Maine aap se anurodh krna chata hu ki kirpa school Mai kuch subject Mai traditional knowledge ke bare mai bhi sikhaya jaye, humare education system Mai to jo sikaya jata hai wo aap se nhi chupa hai, west traditional ki siksa bhoot ho geye aab time aa geya hai ti humari sanskriti, culture, vigyaan ka parchar humere anne wali pidi kr. Iske leye hume siksa mai yeh visha dalna aanuwariye ho geya hai. Mai aap ka dhyan private school ki or kichna chahunga jaha aaj bhi sudhar ki Aawshakta hai. It is our traditional knowledge that has helped our nation as a family to fight Corona war, with our PM Modi leading from the front and guiding whole humanity to adopt our immunological ways and means to halt the scourge, the role played by Indian spices in prevention and cure, along with the food systems our traditional knowledge supports as vegetarian recipes for every season and the knowledge of harmony with nature, in trying to follow the Yogic Path, starting from Proper Breathing to focus whole physical and Mental postures for stability and inward looking search to seek truth beyond Sense Perceptions to lead Conscious living, has enhanced Indias Scientific heritage as a focal point, extending it beyond food, medicines and prevention of diseases to look for India's guidance to World Peace in accepting the concept of Vasudeva kutumbakam. Honour to PM Narendra Damodardass Modi, humanity is heading towards Shared Existence, it is Cosmic Knowledge, humanity to be proudly pursuing.

Respected PM Sir,, As a local villagers I am just telling about our tradition knowledge. From my childhood, my grand monther told about our traditional culture. At first , respect & love to everyone is our tradition culture in our country. This is possible if we respect ourselves. But ,,, unfortunately, now a days we forgot that. Now a days every parents want to make him/ her child a big successful people. From the childhood level, we only make competition with other. Every book just touch our tradition culture. I thik if we have a special subject about our traditional culture & the subject should be must from childhood level, then every student should focus on that subject. Then the student will learn about our traditional culture with their education. Then a love to our country will automatically arise. That's all. Jay bharat.

Honorable Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi ji, Sir Tradisional knowledge is not just a part in a particular person. We have so many elders to tell us about Indian culture. But they can only use some kind of normal language. Science can explain the reason behind that words. That's a simple issue. There is nothing to worry about our country Sir. India is going to be developed by tradisional knowledge in the combination of Science Sir. Every citizen has to understand the capacity of every individual. Because every person is different but we have to find our self what I am. Don't look at ur surroundings to find about u.look in side of ur brain and heart. correct answer is both in one direction. It make ur brain stronger than before.No one create our feature we have to create it ourselves. For schools, as being a student my suggestion is to start with poster making competition or essays writing competition on this topic in schools to make the children search about their glorious traditional knowledge and practices.
