Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

reforming school examination system objective type questions should be reduced oral, written and practical evaluation should be given due importance fair conduct of examination

In accordance with RTE act, a person he/she interested to get into the profession of Teaching need to clear Teacher Eligibility TEst, that is minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII other than basic D.Ed or B.Ed. This would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process. Going further TET need to be conducted for in-service teacher to update their knowledge....

Most of the teachers teaching at +2 level are not comfortable n confident while demonstrating practical before students.Level of practicals at +2 level is miserable as teacher themselves are not well-versed.This is one of the important area that need serious attention.Teachers ( PGT) must be given training in practicals by effective trainers.They must be given practical test to keep them active.

Finally the much awaited decision...NCERT has come with 2 year B.Ed program which was much needed in the education system of our country..This will hopefully result in improving the quality of teacher education and also the number of pupil teachers passing out each year will be less..

IF ENGINEERS WANT TO TEACH IN SCHOOL THEN WHAT IS PROBLEM WITH NCTE? A MASS OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN B.TECH DURING LAST 5-8 YRS..WHAT IS ITS OUTPPUT..THEY ARE NOT GETTING JOB..IF THEY GET, THEY ONLY GET 8K TO 10000 RS ONLY. THIS IS NOT AT ALL JUSTICE FOR ENGINEERS. EDUCATION SECTORS TOTALLY BLOCKED ENTRY FOR ENGINEERS,IF WE WOULD HAVE GET CHANCE THEN EDUCATION WILL BE CERTAINLY IMPROVED. EDUCATION IS OPEN FOR ALL DEGREE HOLDERS NOT FOR SPECIFIC, THEN U WILL C THE CHANGE. PM SIR PLEASE HELP US PLZ

MY QUESTION IS THAT COULD B.TECH DEGREE HOLDERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO ENROLLED HIMSELF INTO B.ED. DEGREE PROGRAMME? IF YES THEN KINDLY CIRCULATE ALL THE GUIDELINES TO RESPECTIVE COLLEGES AND POPULARISED IN AN EFFECTIVE WAY BECAUSE B.TECH HOLDERS ARE COMPLETELY SUFFERER IN CURRENT EDUCATION POLICY. I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THAT B.TECH HOLDERS HAVE RIGHT TO CRACK I.A.S/P.C.S/SSC/RAILWAY/BANKING/PSUs BUT FOR A BEING A TEACHER'S ELIGIBILITY, B.TECH HOLDERS HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE A TEACHER.

Since my research area is Applied Linguistics & ELT, I have found that along with all kinds of changes in teaching methodologies, techniques, materials, and policies training on 'how to talk effectively in the classroom' is also a need of this time. I mean teachers must be provided with training on 'Effective Teacher Talk' which i have researched and found very interesting results.

Teacher Education and Teacher Training are very important educational aspects. If a teacher is well educated in true sense and well trained from time to time, then, truly, a strong and scholar generation can be developed. Therefore, the teacher educators or teacher trainers play crucial role I think since the central gov has been changed and since such initiatives like the current one are taken, the drastic change in education policies will no longer be far away Thanks to Bharat Sarkaar.

KVS & NVS are both autonomous bodies of MHRD but unfortunately they don't have any exchanges.If some bridging is made b/ w the two to exchange teaching experience n improving teaching n learning process better results can be achieved.Most of teacher training program in these organizations are not very fruitful ,the two system must come closure and frame execute interactive training program.

I have the following Suggestions: 1. Regular Training Program for all teacher should be compulsory. 2. For teachers Salary Increment, an Exam is a preferable option. 3. Feedback from students must be mandatory by all the State & Central Government and action should be taken if found guilty (penalty or suspension). 4. We know all most all teachers (80%) now-a-days do not teach in school rather call the students for private tuition. For those only feed back and action is the option
