Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Apart from sharing Expertise and investments, make the NRI as " Cultural Ambassadors of India". 25-30 millions of Indians outside the country and needs Voting power and Welfare board to look after legal aspects apart from present facilities. Many instances of legal and police problems created to NRI by utilizing their physical absence in India. This needs re-look to solve problem. Automatically Funds & Minds will flow to India, we are Nationalist and patriots of India.

1-Mere invitation without material[growing India=peaceful interstate and international border(defense capability)+Constitutionally rich and national resources based all inclusive national policy at PAN India level to drive governments in states and center(uniform policies)etc]will not help attracting NRI to contribute for nation building.2-We need to identify, build and develop our assets[Tons of oil in sea bed, solar energy etc remained unexplored]. We need policy, the world & NRI will join us.

Apart from Investment, Government can facilitate NRI, those importing products from India at their destination country, may be recognition of top 5 NRI contributor for each country. This will help to increase the export of Indian products worldwide. These top 5 contributor may get some incentive to set up their own trading/JV/Manufacturing units in India, and this chain will help to grow investment as well as export. I am willing to share detailed plan for that to Government, if given chance.

Fairness creams: I have no problem with if people want to have white skin just like some people like straight hair its a preference which is fine. But I have problem with stigma attached to dark color skin. When you see our tv ads for fairness creams, they are just disgusting as they imply that if people are dark they dont get jobs, dont get married, basically they are good for nothing if they are dark. Please ban such ads which indicate white color=worthy color rather than focusing on healthy skin
