The Govt. of India has set-up a High Level Committee (HLC) of experienced persons and experts under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Shanta Kumar, to recommend restructuring of Food Corporation of India (FCI) with a view to improving its operational efficiencies and financial management.

The constitution of the High Level Committee by the Government of India and its terms of reference are placed in the public domain at FCI website: www.fciweb.nic.in

General Public and stake-holders including professionals, academicians, scientists, NGOs/institutions, self-help groups, co-operatives, farmer bodies/associations, rice/ flour millers, handling & transport contractors, government bodies etc. in the field of food management, agriculture, storage, warehousing, supply chain and logistics etc. are hereby solicited to send their suggestions on restructuring of the Food Corporation of India.

Suggestions are also invited to reorient the role of FCI in Minimum Support Price operations, storage and distribution of foodgrains and food security systems of the country.

Views may also be given with regard to integration of supply chain of foodgrains in the country, suggesting most efficient model for storage and least cost option of moving grains alongwith tracking of carriage. Views on
models of scientific storage and upgradation of technology in management of foodgrains are also welcome.

FCI must control hoarding of onions in Maharashtra, Tamil nadu and many other major onion producing states so as to have a check on the prices of these fluctuating commodities.

The government seems to be taking some serious steps for unclogging Delhi. I am sure the experts involved in the project will take care of all aspects. As a student of science, I have only one comment to offer. The traffic flows like water. The moment you put some obstruction, its motion becomes turbulent. The term bottleneck has come from fluid dynamics. I hope the problem faced by huge number of people travelling from NCR to Delhi will also be addressed.

I don't wish to say that money should be the hallmark of everything but in a professional world, we will have to be realistic and in order to avoid corruption, the dispensation has to be pragmatic at all levels. Revise, rework, if some of them are required to be even reduced (I am sure more than half of the bureaucracy will qualify for this) but don't hold back for deserving ones in any manner. We may have to attract best talent globally (and not only from a selected band of our civil servants)

Dear PM, How the imagination of world can ride on the small yet firm hopes, delivered by a man of integrity and commitment. I am sad that why we had to waste previous 10 years however today when we set our speed at work, we will have to factor in for these 10 years as well to compensate. Lets grow all, together.

I would like to request that the gov should allow NRIs(esp US citizens) to atleast allow them to own say 10 acres of agri land. For NRIs returned to India who are so keen on farming(organic) this is a big hurdle.

Aaj Coal India ke CMD ki post kaa papers mein advt dekha. Besides free house and vehicle, pay scale will be 80,000/-1.25 with usual perks. The CIL is an almost 90,000 crore company with 15000 crore as profit after tax. A chap after a top IIT tag earns atleast 10 times as a fresher. How will we reverse the trend and realize make in India? This needs to be corrected.
