Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance or UMANG developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was inspired from the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister, who said “e-Governance, let us think about ‘mobile first’ and thus give importance to m-Governance”.

On November 23, 2017, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the UMANG Mobile app to the Nation with 163 services. UMANG is an initiative to build a common, unified platform, aggregating major government services of Center, States, local bodies, including important utility services, to facilitate a single point access through mobile app, anytime, anywhere. Citizens need to download just one mobile application and can access multiple services.

UMANG was envisaged to have a transformative and historic impact on the lives of citizens by allowing them to avail digital services on 24*7, without any intermediary. Connected government, effective & economic governance, citizen centricity, inclusiveness, universal access and citizen participation in governance are some of the key benefits of UMANG for citizens as well as the Government.

Within a short period of its successful running, the mobile app bagged the ‘Best m-Government Service’ award at the 6th World Government Summit held at Dubai, UAE, in February 2018. UMANG also won at the IDC Digital Transformation Awards 2018 in August, under the category Omni-experience Innovator, which recognized it as a pioneering initiative.

The ‘Digital India Jury choice award 2018-19’ and DARPG Gold award 2018-19 for ‘Excellence in providing Citizen Centric Delivery’ respectively, were also bestowed upon UMANG. Information dissemination and delivery of government services, for assisting citizens on various aspects of life & livelihood, is being taken to another level through the consolidation of many important and widely used government services onto a single unified mobile app i.e. UMANG

UMANG Team now invites your suggestions for which 3 new services to on-board from State/Central Government departments on to the UMANG Platform.

उन गरीबों के लिए बैंक खाते का अनुरोध करने के लिए उमंग ऐप में लिंक जोड़ें जो अभी भी बैंकिंग से बाहर हैं, आधार, पैन और पता जोड़ने की सुविधा बनाएं ताकि निकटतम राष्ट्रीयकृत या डाकघर बैंक बैंकिंग पहुंच प्रदान करने के लिए गरीबों के घर तक पहुंच सके। 1) न्यूनतम ब्याज दर के साथ न्यूनतम ऋण सुविधा 2) आंगनवाड़ी महिला समूहों आदि में बैंकों द्वारा बैंकिंग जागरूकता सेवाएं देना 3) बिना नकदी के आसान लेनदेन के लिए उन्हें डिजिटल लेनदेन प्लेटफार्मों में शामिल करें।

सरकार को यह जांचना चाहिए कि क्या इस ऐप के माध्यम से पहले से उपलब्ध सेवाएं देश के सभी हिस्सों में पूरी तरह से उपलब्ध हैं। खासकर ईपीएफओ से जुड़ी जानकारी हर समय उपलब्ध नहीं होती है। सरकार को पहले यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए कि मौजूदा सेवाओं में से 100% उपलब्ध हैं। मौजूदा सेवाओं में मौजूदा कमियों को दूर करने के बाद नई सेवाएं शुरू करें। डाकघर से संबंधित खुदरा व्यापार सेवा को शामिल किया जाए। यह आम लोगों के लिए भी अपने उत्पादों की मार्केटिंग करने का अवसर होगा।

उमंग एप पर नए एनएससी, किसान विकास पत्र या डाकघरों में आवर्ती जमा करने की सुविधा दी जा सकती है। डाकघरों की सेवाओं में सुधार करना होगा। उमंग ऐप पर डाकघरों की अधिक सेवाओं के साथ, उन लोगों के लिए जीवन आसान हो जाएगा जो हस्तांतरणीय नौकरियों पर हैं और उन लोगों के लिए भी जो शारीरिक रूप से डाकघर नहीं जा सकते हैं।

With Umang, the government aims to promote e-governance and adopt a new-age governance policy as part of Modi's Digital India initiative. The app can be downloaded for free on Android, iOS and Windows Phone. UMANG has been developed by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This e-governance application can also be used through other channels like web, SMS or IVR.

UMANG App is an integrated application that can be used to avail multiple pan India e-Government services such as Income Tax Filing, Aadhar and Provident Fund Queries, Booking of Gas Cylinder, Passport Seva, etc. The platform gives people access to over 100 services from both the state and central government.

Through the UMANG app, you can get information about all the schemes of the Government of India to the state governments and can also apply for it. In this app there are 131 departments of central government and 128 departments of state governments.

You can also download the UMANG app from the Play Store but it is advised that any app should always be downloaded from the official channel only. If you want, you can also download this app by visiting http://umang.gov.in or by giving a missed call to the number 9718397183.
