Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance or UMANG developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was inspired from the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister, who said “e-Governance, let us think about ‘mobile first’ and thus give importance to m-Governance”.

On November 23, 2017, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the UMANG Mobile app to the Nation with 163 services. UMANG is an initiative to build a common, unified platform, aggregating major government services of Center, States, local bodies, including important utility services, to facilitate a single point access through mobile app, anytime, anywhere. Citizens need to download just one mobile application and can access multiple services.

UMANG was envisaged to have a transformative and historic impact on the lives of citizens by allowing them to avail digital services on 24*7, without any intermediary. Connected government, effective & economic governance, citizen centricity, inclusiveness, universal access and citizen participation in governance are some of the key benefits of UMANG for citizens as well as the Government.

Within a short period of its successful running, the mobile app bagged the ‘Best m-Government Service’ award at the 6th World Government Summit held at Dubai, UAE, in February 2018. UMANG also won at the IDC Digital Transformation Awards 2018 in August, under the category Omni-experience Innovator, which recognized it as a pioneering initiative.

The ‘Digital India Jury choice award 2018-19’ and DARPG Gold award 2018-19 for ‘Excellence in providing Citizen Centric Delivery’ respectively, were also bestowed upon UMANG. Information dissemination and delivery of government services, for assisting citizens on various aspects of life & livelihood, is being taken to another level through the consolidation of many important and widely used government services onto a single unified mobile app i.e. UMANG

UMANG Team now invites your suggestions for which 3 new services to on-board from State/Central Government departments on to the UMANG Platform.

Please submit your suggestions (comments) latest by 18th January, 2022.

We need two step authentication in money transactions : PIN and OTP or biometric and OTP. There are lots of frauds nowadays days in Banking / On line transactions. If Biometric is added with OTP, frauds could be stopped from lost cell phone devices using Many online Apps. Face recognition app which is coming for Life Certificate could be used in future for transactions too.

The app is aimed at all citizens of India and offers hundreds of services including payment, registration, information search and application forms. It is a component of the Digital India initiative, intending to make government services available to the general public online and around the clock.

sir insert one service called "duties and responsibilities". in this clearly mention what are the central and state duties and responsibilities and also clearly mention what are the duties and responsibilities of MP and MLA. and also mention which projects are funded by central and state separately and also mention the concerned department and MP or MLA to contact in case of necessity. For this you need the support of states

sir pls try to implement "digital promissory note service" on test basis in this app. from this creditor and debtor can take promissory note with their adhaar number. for this you need to increase the cash transaction limit also temporarily. and try to decrease the legal validity to physical promissory note.

Honorable Modi sir, thank you🙏🙏🙏 very much for all in one app UMANG. only one is to say that in aadhar section, mobile number seeding option is must. this will help to save time. and also in EPFO section, edition of every option is online done from Umang App. cause to for to make corrections person ask to go to EPFO office, in this case agents doing corruption. thanking you
